December 2008
Managed a walk through the countryside this a.m. Lovely! Took a few snaps too - with Amy on my shoulders. Will try a solo run tomorrow.
http://twitpic.com/y8tp - Here’s the house we’re staying in for New Year.
http://twitpic.com/y96c - Back to the house for cakes. Done that. Is it time for beer yet?
Just about to leave Balham to drive up to Nottingham for a couple of days. Final visit of the holiday season.
Stop off gave us the opportunity to have ‘a more intense experience’ at Costa for £6.20 (2 coffees) & get lost trying to find the exit!
Stopped at a service station on M1. I’m falling asleep so J’s taken the wheel. Kids behaving themselves so far.
Grrr! Amy is challenging Jeremy Clarkson & Dubya for the title of ‘most annoying person on the planet’.
‘Ballad of a Thin Man’ having a soothing effect. May yet get through the morning without needing to jump off the roof…or a small step :-)
Busy night, but all done now. The filmwasters.com ‘empire’ is all bang up to date & bursting with new content.
Off to bed. Will be woken in 4 hours time by a bottle-hungry little boy. Am looking forward to it already.
Another good thing about Christmas: the leftovers! Great supper tonight of veg soup, cheese crackers, Port & Leon’s spicy Bhut relish.
Just about to get the Filmwasters podcast online…finally. Will probably take hours!!
Have undressed the tree & am now cleaning Christmas day off the kitchen hob. Glad the tree’s gone though. They’re a pain in the neck.
http://twitpic.com/xm45 - Jacqui’s posh Christmas tea. White Yunan.
Back on Leon’s spicy Bhut relish for lunch.
Enjoying the fact that Leon is struggling with Twitter despite having had no problems with Facebook. I’m the total opposite.
Got back to London in good time. Great weekend in Kent. Thanks to our wonderful hosts! 1 day here & then off to Nottingham for 2 days! Mad.
Just about to leave Kent to head back home. Hope the roads are still quiet.
Awake. Hoping to corral all Wenns in time to get to Deal and meet Leon & Helen. It’s brass monkeys outside again.
http://twitpic.com/x5td - Our walk along the cliffs earlier today.
http://twitpic.com/x5yn - Joe’s Christmas Shiner
To clarify: we are currently in Kent not in Lent. Thanks to @artbizness for pointing this out.
Took a walk along the cliffs overlooking Dover docks. Amazing photo ops for another day. Kids were freezing though so we retreated early.
Taken the family down to lent for a couple of days to see my parents.
Trying to work out if there’s a way of using Polaroid 100-series peel apart films in an SLR & expose the whole neg…or most of it at least.
Assume the only way is buy a 5x4 camera and use a Polaroid 405 film holder? Grr! Anyone out there got a spare 5x4 for me?
The last guests to leave did so @ 11pm. Just finishing off some tidying up then it’s off to bed via the PC for some goop scans.
http://twitpic.com/wnyc - Amy and Emily having their Christmas meal
Just got the house looking shipshape after yesterday when 4 extra people show up for breakfast. I’ve retreated to the bathroom. Not leaving!
http://twitpic.com/wee1 - Christmas meal almost ready.
We’re well into Christmas here in London. Main meal due to start in 45 mins. 11 of us @ Wenn Mansions. Chaos…..obviously.
My 2 word summary of the day so far: ‘packaging’ and ‘chutney’. I got gallons of the latter.
Joe woke @ 6.20am. Could have been worse. Amy surfaced just after 7. 1st few presents opened & breakfast eaten. Time to get dressed.
2AM and we’re finally ready to go to sleep. Let’s hope the kids forget all about Santa Claus and sleep through til 8AM…hah!
Goodnight one & all. Have a great Christmas Day etc.
http://twitpic.com/w5ey - Beer Review: my 2nd purchase from Meantime is no better than the first - their IPA. Sorry.
Kids in bed (& asleep!) waiting for Santa. Work now begins on getting the house ready for tomorrow.
